Graça versus Lei - Parte 2 - Grace vs Law Part 2

O Evangelho de João deixa claro quando diz:

The Gospel of John is clear when it says:

“Pois a Lei foi dada por intermédio de Moisés; a graça e a verdade vieram por intermédio de Jesus Cristo”. (João 1:17 – NVI)

“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”. (John 1:17 – NKJV)

Em Êxodo 32, Moisés desceu ao pé do Monte Sinai com as tábuas de pedra nas quais Deus havia escrito a lei. Chegando lá, ele percebeu que o povo já havia quebrado a primeira lei que diz: "Não terás outros deuses diante de mim” (Êxodo 20:3 - NVI). Por causa do pecado que cometeram, no dia em que a Lei foi dada 3000 pessoas morreram (Êxodo 32:28).

On Exodus 32, Moses came down to the foot of Mount Sinai with the tables in which God wrote the Law, just to realize that the People had ALREADY broken the first Law that says “You shall have no other gods before Me”. (Exodus 20:3 - NKJV). Because of their sin, on the day the Law was given 3000 people died (Exodus 32:28).

Quando Jesus trouxe a Aliança da Graça, na qual estamos COBERTOS pelo sangue do Cordeiro, houve uma mudança significativa: Em Atos 2, quando o Espírito Santo foi derramado, Pedro pregou o Evangelho e 3000 pessoas receberam Vida Eterna (v. 41)!

When Jesus brought the Covenant of Grace, in which we are COVERED by The Blood of the Lamb, There was a significant change: In Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit was send, Peter Preached the Gospel and 3000 people received Eternal Life (v.41)!

Agora é mais fácil entender por que o apóstolo Paulo escreveu aos Coríntios, dizendo:

“Vocês mesmos são a nossa carta, escrita em nosso coração, conhecida e lida por todos. Vocês demonstram que são uma carta de Cristo, resultado do nosso ministério, escrita não com tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo, não em tábuas de pedra, mas em tábuas de corações humanos. Tal é a confiança que temos diante de Deus, por meio de Cristo. Não que possamos reivindicar qualquer coisa com base em nossos próprios méritos, mas a nossa capacidade vem de Deus. Ele nos capacitou para sermos ministros de uma nova aliança, não da letra, mas do Espírito; pois a letra mata, mas o Espírito vivifica. O ministério que trouxe a morte foi gravado com letras em pedras; mas esse ministério veio com tal glória que os israelitas não podiam fixar os olhos na face de Moisés por causa do resplendor do seu rosto, ainda que desvanecente. Não será o ministério do Espírito ainda muito mais glorioso? Se era glorioso o ministério que trouxe condenação, quanto mais glorioso será o ministério que produz justiça! (2 Coríntios 3:2-9 – NVI – Negrito meu)

Now it is easier to understand why the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians saying:

“You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.  And we have such trust through Christ toward that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?  For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory”. (2 Corinthians 3:2-9 – NKJV – Bold by me).

A única parte da Lei que foi gravado em pedras era os Dez Mandamentos! Paulo vai mais longe e se refere a Lei como "O ministério que trouxe a morte" e "o ministério que trouxe condenação".

The only portion of the Law that was engraved on stones was the Ten Commandments! Paul goes further to call the Law “The ministry of death” and “the ministry of condemnation”.

As pessoas que estão tentando obedecer a Lei, não entendem o motivo de eles sentirem tanta condenação  quando eles falham em cumprir a lei. Eles não entendem a razão de não haver vida brotando do interior enquanto eles continuam sua luta para obedecer aos Mandamentos. Bem, agora está explicado! A única coisa que você vai experimentar com a Lei é a morte e condenação!

The people that are trying to obey the Law, does not understand why they feel so condemned when they fail. They don’t understand why there is no life springing forth as they carry on with their pursuit of keeping the Commandments. Well, now it is explained! The only thing you can experience with the Law is death and condemnation!

Algumas pessoas culpam o diabo quando eles cometem um pecado. Normalmente eles dizem: ‘o inimigo levou-me a pecar’; ou ‘eu caí na armadilha do diabo’. Isso parece correto, no entanto a Bíblia nos dá a verdadeira razão por que as pessoas continuam caindo em pecado:

Some people blame the devil when they commit a sin. They usually say: ‘the enemy led me into sin’; or ‘I felt into the devil’s trap’. It sounds right, however the Bible gives us the TRUE REASON why people keep falling into sin:

“O aguilhão da morte é o pecado, e a força do pecado é a lei”. (1 Coríntios 15:56 – NVI – Negrito meu)

“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”. (1 Corinthians 15:56 – NKJV – Bold by me).

“Pois o pecado não os dominará, porque vocês não estão debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça”. (Romanos 6:14 – NVI – Negrito meu)

“For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace”. (Romans 6:14 – NKJV – Bold by me)

“Mas o pecado, aproveitando a oportunidade dada pelo mandamento, produziu em mim todo tipo de desejo cobiçoso. Pois, sem a lei, o pecado está morto. Antes, eu vivia sem a lei, mas quando o mandamento veio, o pecado reviveu, e eu morri. Descobri que o próprio mandamento, destinado a produzir vida, na verdade produziu morte”. (Romanos 7:8-10 – NVI – Negrito meu)

“But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. (Romans 7:8-10 – NKJV – Bold by me).

A LEI, E APENAS A LEI, É A RAZÃO PORQUE AS PESSOAS NÃO CONSEGUEM SE LIBERTAR DE SUAS PRÁTICAS PECAMINOSAS!! UMA OUTRA FORMA DE LER  ROMANOS 6:14 É: O PECADO TEM DOMÍNIO SOBRE VÓS, PORQUE VOCÊ ESTÁ SOB A LEI E NÃO SOB A GRAÇA!

THE LAW, AND THE LAW ALONE, IS THE REASON WHY PEOPLE CANNOT BREAK FREE FROM THEIR SINFUL PRACTICES!!!! ANOTHER WAY TO READ ROMANS 6:14 IS: SIN HAS DOMINION OVER YOU, BECAUSE YOU ARE UNDER THE LAW AND NOT UNDER GRACE!

A Lei mantém você ocupado consigo mesmo: " [TU] não farás  ..., [TU] não farás ...". Graça mantém seu foco na obra que Jesus consumou na Cruz! A Lei aponta o teu fracasso; Graça aponta sucesso de Jesus; A lei exige; A Graça Supre. A Lei desqualifica; A Graça capacita!!! J

The Law keeps you occupied with yourself, “You shall not…, you shall not…”.Grace, keeps you focused on Jesus’ finished work on the Cross! The Law points your Failure; Grace points Jesus’ Success; The law demands; Grace Supplies. The Law disqualifies; Grace empowers!!! J

Graça versus Lei - Parte 1 - Grace vs Law - Part 1

Agradeço a Deus pela vida do Pr. Joseph Príncipe! Eu tenho aprendido muito com o seu ministério, e desejo compartilhá-lo por onde quer que eu vá. Como eu prometi no post anterior, Eu explicarei o motivo pelo qual Deus deu a lei aos descendentes de Abraão.

I thank God for Ps Joseph Prince’s life! I have learnt so much from his ministry, and I desire to spread it wherever I go. As I promised on the previous post, I will explain why God gave the law to Abraham’s descendants.

Deus prometeu a Abraão que seus descendentes herdariam uma terra (Gênesis 15:7). Por 430 anos o povo de Israel (descendentes de Abraão) viveram como escravos no Egito (Êxodo 12:40, 41). Deus enviou Moisés para libertá-los de toda opressão, bem como levá-los para a Terra Prometida (Êxodo 3:7, 8).

God promised Abraham that his descendant’s would inherited a land (Genesis 15:7). For 430 years the Children of Israel (Abraham’s descendants) dwelt as slaves in Egypt (Exodus 12:40, 41). God sent Moses to deliver them from all the oppression, as well as to lead them into the Promised Land (Exodus 3:7, 8).

Pouco antes de sairem do Egito, Deus deu-lhes uma instrução muito importante: Eles precisavam matar um cordeiro sem defeito. Deveria ser um macho de 1 ano de idade. Naquela noite eles iriam matar o animal, assar a carne e comê-la. O sangue do cordeiro eles aplicariam nos umbrais de suas casas (Êxodo 12:5, 6). Essa foi a primeira Páscoa.

Just before they left Egypt, God gave them a very important instruction: They needed to kill a lamb without blemish. It should be a male of the 1st year of age. They would kill the animal, roast the meat on fire and eat it on that night. They would take the blood of the lamb and apply to the door posts of their houses (Exodus 12:5, 6). That was the first Passover.

Em Êxodo 12:12, 13, Deus deixou claro a razão de tudo isso:

"Naquela mesma noite passarei pelo Egito e matarei todos os primogênitos, tanto dos homens como dos animais, e executarei juízo sobre todos os deuses do Egito. Eu sou o Senhor! O sangue será um sinal para indicar as casas em que vocês estiverem; quando eu vir o sangue, passarei adiante. A praga de destruição não os atingirá quando eu ferir o Egito”. (NVI – Negrito meu)

 On Exodus 12:12, 13, God made clear he reason for all of that:

“For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt”. (NKJV – Bold by me)

Por causa do sangue do cordeiro, os Filhos de Israel estariam protegidos contra o julgamento de Deus, marcado pela a morte de todos os primogênitos. Isso foi uma metáfora do verdadeiro Cordeiro de Deus que derramaria seu precioso sangue para nos salvar da ira e indignação de Deus contra o pecado. Deus entregou Seu primogênito, para que os primogênitos do seu povo pudessem viver.

Because of the blood of the lamb, the Children of Israel would be protected against God’s judgment, which was the death of all firstborns. That was a metaphor of the true Lamb of God that would shed his Precious Blood to save us from God’s wrath and indignation against sin. God gave His firstborn so that his people’s firstborns would live.

A fé que eles depositaram no Sangue os fez justos diante de Deus! Portanto, quando eles saíram do Egito, a graça e as misericórdias de Deus os acompanharam. ESSA É A RAZÃO PELA QUAL DO EGITO AO MONTE SINAI NINGUÉM MORREU, EMBORA ELES TIVESSEM MURMURADO CONTRA DEUS INÚMERAS VEZES.

Their faith in the Blood made them Righteous before God! Therefore, when they left Egypt, God’s GRACE and MERCIES were over their lives. THAT IS THE REASON WHY FROM EGYPT TO MOUNT SINAI NOBODY DIED, EVEN THOUGH THEY COMPLAINED AGAINST GOD NUMEROUS TIMES.

Quando eles viram o Mar Vermelho à frente deles e o exército de Faraó se aproximando por trás, eles MURMURARAM contra Deus e ainda disseram que teria sido melhor ter ficado no Egito (Êxodo 14:11, 12); Deus abriu o mar e destruiu os inimigos. Do outro lado, eles não tinham água para beber, então eles MURMURARAM contra Deus (Êxodo 15:24); Deus disse a Moisés para lançar uma árvore nas águas e elas se tornaram doce. Em seguida, MURMURARAM contra Deus novamente, pois eles não tinham pão e carne para comer. Eles mais uma vez desejaram estar de volta no Egito (Êxodo 16:2,3,12,13); Deus fez cair pão do céu e enviou a aves para servir de carne.

When they saw the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh’s army approaching from behind they COMPLAINED against God and wished they were still in Egypt (Exodus 14:11, 12); God opened the sea and destroyed the enemies. On the other side, they didn’t have water to drink so they COMPLAINED against God (Exodus 15:24); God told Moses to cast a tree into the waters and it became sweet. Then they COMPLAINED against God again, because they didn’t have bread and meat to eat, and they wished they were still in Egypt (Exodus 16:2,3,12,13); God made bread fall from heaven and send birds as meat.

Deus ordenou que, no 6º dia eles deveriam colher alimento suficientes também para o 7º dia, porque este seria um dia de descanso. No entanto, alguns saíram no 7º dia para colher alimento (Êxodo 16:22,23). Em Êxodo 16: 28 Deus manifesta a Moisés a sua indignação contra a desobediência de seu povo: “Então o Senhor disse a Moisés: Até quando vocês se recusarão a obedecer aos meus mandamentos e às minhas instruções?” (NVI). No entanto, NINGUÉM RECEBEU O JULGAMENTO DA PARTE DE DEUS, porque eles estavam sob a proteção do sangue do cordeiro!

God ordered that on the 6^th day they should gather enough food for the 7^th day as well, because that would be a day of rest. However, some of they went out on the 7^th day to get food (Exodus 16:22,23). In Exodus 16: 28, God expresses to Moses his indignation against his people’s disobedience: “And the Lord said to Moses, "How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws?” (NKJV). However, NOBODY RECEIVED JUDGMENT FROM GOD, because they were under the protection of the blood of the lamb!

Em Êxodo 19, descreve quando os filhos de Israel chegaram ao Monte Sinai:

“Logo Moisés subiu o monte para encontrar-se com Deus. E o Senhor o chamou do monte, dizendo: Diga o seguinte aos descendentes de Jacó e declare aos israelitas: Vocês viram o que fiz ao Egito e como os transportei sobre asas de águias e os trouxe para junto de mim. Agora, se me obedecerem fielmente e guardarem a minha aliança, vocês serão o meu tesouro pessoal dentre todas as nações. Embora toda a terra seja minha, vocês serão para mim um reino de sacerdotes e uma nação santa. Essas são as palavras que você dirá aos israelitas". (V.3-6 – NVI)

On Exodus 19, is described when the children of Israel arrived at Mount Sinai:

“And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:  You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles wings and brought you to Myself.  Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel." (v. 3-6 – NKJV).

Moisés reuniu o povo e compartilhou as palavras de Deus. Eles responderam em uma só voz: "Faremos tudo o que o Senhor ordenou" (v.8). Aqui está o único problema: até aqui eles tinham falhado em obedecer às instruções de Deus, e nunca haviam parado de murmurar. No entanto, eles se gabaram de sua própria capacidade de fazer “tudo o que o Senhor tinha dito”. NO MOMENTO QUE O HOMEM passou a confiar em sua PRÓPRIA CAPACIDADE, DEUS MUDOU SUA ABORDAGEM PARA COM SEU POVO:

Moses gathered the people and shared God’s words. They replied in one voice: "All that the Lord has spoken we will do." (v.8). Here is the only problem: they had failed to obey God’s instructions and never stopped complaining. Nevertheless, they boasted of their OWN ABILITY to DO all that the Lord had spoken. ON THE MOMENT THAT MAN RELIED ON HIS OWN STRENGTH, GOD CHANGED HIS APPROACH TOWARDS HIS PEOPLE:

“Estabeleça limites em torno do monte e diga ao povo: Tenham o cuidado de não subir ao monte e de não tocar na sua base. Quem tocar no monte certamente será morto”. (Êxodo 19:12 – NVI – Negrito meu)

“You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death”. (Exodus 19:12 – NKJV – bold by me).

Em Êxodo 20 Deus estabeleceu os 10 Mandamentos. A partir desse momento em diante, toda vez que eles murmuravam eles morriam; cada vez que transgrediam a lei de Deus, eles eram punidos! Deus nunca teve a intenção de dar a lei. Eles deixaram a ALIANÇA da GRAÇA e entraram debaixo da MALDIÇÃO DA LEI. A lei foi dada para trazê-los ao ponto de que eles reconhecessem que não eram capazes de obedecê-la. Isso os mostraria a necessidade que eles tinham de ter um Salvador:

On Exodus 20 God established the 10 Commandments. From that moment forward, every time they complained they died; every time they transgressed God’s law, they were punished! God never intended to give the law. They left the COVENANT of GRACE and went into the CURSE of the LAW. The law was given so that they we would come to the end of themselves, and recognize that they were not able to obey it. That would show them their need for a Savior:

“Já os que são pela prática da lei estão debaixo de maldição, pois está escrito: Maldito todo aquele que não persiste em praticar todas as coisas escritas no livro da Lei. É evidente que diante de Deus ninguém é justificado pela lei, pois ‘o justo viverá pela fé’. A lei não é baseada na fé; pelo contrário, ‘quem praticar estas coisas, por elas viverá’. Cristo nos redimiu da maldição da lei quando se tornou maldição em nosso lugar, pois está escrito: ‘Maldito todo aquele que for pendurado num madeiro’ (...) Assim, a lei foi o nosso tutor até Cristo, para que fôssemos justificados pela fé”. (Gálatas 3:10-13,24 – NVI – Negrito meu)

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith”. Yet the law is not of faith, but the man who does them shall live by them. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree) (…) Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (Galatians 3:10-13, 24 – NKJV – bold by me).
