Interpretar corretament pode 'salvar' a sua vida! - The correct interpretation can 'save' your life!

Um precioso irmão em Cristo deixou um comentário em uma das minhas postagems, que me levou a escrever sobre esse  tema no post numero 11.

Eu sei que muitos líderes tem "ensinado" a palavra de Deus sem a correta interpretação da Bíblia. Isto tem trazido muita confusão ao povo de Deus. A Bíblia é a Palavra de Deus e sendo Ele imutável, logo não importa a época na qual ela foi escrita. No entanto, a tradução do original Grego para os outros idiomas, pode ter feito com que algumas das idéias originais sejam mal interpretadas.

A precious brother in Christ left a comment on one of my posts that led me into the theme of the 11^th post.

I know that many leaders have been “teaching” God’s word without applying the correct Bible interpretation. This has caused a lot of confusion among God’s people. The Bible is the Word of a never changing God; therefore it does not matter the era which it was written. However, the translation from its original language may have caused some of the original ideas to be misunderstood.

Mesmo assim, isto não dever ser usado como desculpa para um má interpretação da Bíblia. Jesus disse que nos mandaria o Consolador, o Espírito Santo, Ele habitaria em nós para sempre e nos guiaria à toda verdade (João 14:16-18). Se pedirmos ao Espirito Santo para nos ensinar a Palavra de Deus, Ele nos dará a interpretação correta! (Mateus 7:7).

Still, this is not an excuse to misinterpret the Bible. Jesus said he would send us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, He would abide in us forever and He would guide us into all truth (John 14:16-18). If we ask Him to teach us God’s Word, He shall give the right interpretation to us! (Matthew 7:7).

Má interpretação tambem ocorre quando as pessoas tiram algums versículos isolados de um capítulo, e os interpreta fora de seu contexto. Isso é muito comum! Se queremos estudar uma parte específica das Escrituras, precisamos compará-la com outras passagens da Bíblia antes de tirarmos qualquer conclusão. Além disso, cada livro da Bíblia possui seu tema e foi escrito em um contexto geral. Portanto, uma visão holística de cada livro ajudará no processo de interpretação.

Some other way in which poor interpretation occurs is when people take a couple of verses of one chapter, and interprets them out of its context. This is awfully common! If there is a specific portion of scripture we want to study, we need to compare it with other passages of Bible before we take any conclusion. Also, each Bible book has its theme and a general context, so a holistic view of each book will help while interpreting it.

Eu já ouvi alguns ensinamentos que suportam a idéia de que, tendo sido salvos, través do reconhecimento de Cristo como nosso Salvador, nós podemos perder a nossa salvação a qualquer momento. Eles acreditam que Deus quer que mantenhamos a nossa salvação através do cumprimento de certos atos e pela perseverança durante os "testes que Deus nos faz passar". Esses líderes acreditam que se passarmos todos em todos os "testes" seremos salvos. Caso contrário, passaremos a eternidade no inferno.

I have heard teachings that support the idea that, once we have been saved, by acknowledging Christ as our Savior, we can lose our salvation at any time. They believe that God wants us to keep our salvation by performing certain deeds, and by enduring the “tests God puts us through”. Those leaders believe that if we pass all the “tests” we will be saved; otherwise, we will spend eternity in hell.

Minha pergunta para aqueles que acreditam em tal ensino é: você teve que passar algum teste para receber a salvação em primeiro lugar? A resposta é NÃO! Todos nós recebemos salvação simplesmente crendo que Jesus tomou o nosso lugar na cruz, para que pudéssemos tomar o lugar de justificação que pertencia a Ele.

My question to those who believe in such teaching is: did you have to pass any test to receive salvation on the first place? The answer is NO! We all received salvation simply by believing that Jesus took our place on the cross, so that we could take His place of righteousness.

Portanto, se somos salvos pela fé, mas temos que aplicar nosso esforço humano para mantê-la, já não é pela fé que somos salvos! Além disso, podemos levar o crédito por nossa salvação, uma vez que tenhamos feito algo para merecê-la. Como ensina o apóstolo Paulo em Efésios 2:8, 9:

Therefore, if we are saved by faith, but we have to apply human effort to keep it, it is no longer by faith that we are saved! Also, we can take credit for our salvation, since we have done something to deserve it. As the Apostle Paul teaches in Ephesians 2:8, 9:

“Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé; e isto não vem de vós, é dom de Deus; não vem das obras, para que ninguém se glorie”. (Almeida Atualizada)

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”. (NKJV)

Esses "professores" da Palavra fundamentam as suas idéias usando versículos como Mateus 10:22 que diz:

Those “teachers” of the Word fundament their ideas using verses like Matthew 10:22 that says:

“E sereis odiados de todos por causa do meu nome, mas aquele que perseverar até o fim, esse será salvo”.

“And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me. But those who endure to the end will be saved”. (NLT)

Se lermos apenas este versículo, podemos ter a impressão de que Jesus estabeleceu uma condição para a salvação. No entanto, essa interpretação é errada, porque é TOTALMENTE fora de contexto!

If we read only this verse, we can be under the impression that Jesus set  a condition to salvation. However, this interpretation is wrong, because it is TOTALLY out of context!

O Evangelho segundo Mateus foi escrito para os judeus, e sua finalidade era mostra-los que Jesus era o Messias que fora prometido a eles. Antes de se tornar um discípulo (capítulo 9:9), Mateus era cobrador de impostos para o Império Romano, os governantes da época.

The Gospel according to Matthew was written to the Jews, and its purpose is to shows them that Jesus was their Messiah. Before he became a disciple (chapter 9:9), Matthews was a tax-collector for the Roman Empire, the rulers of that time.

O capítulo 10 começa com Jesus dando instruções a todos os discípulos. Jesus explicou que o  ministério deles seria direcionado aos judeus (10:5, 6). Eles iriam anunciar o Reino dos Céus,  curar os doentes e libertar os oprimidos pelo diabo (10:8). No entanto, Jesus explicou que eles não seriam recebidos por todos, na verdade, eles seriam perseguidos por serem Seus discípulos (10:14 em diante).

The chapter 10 begins with Jesus giving instructions to all the disciples. Jesus explained that their ministry would be to the Jews (10:5, 6). They would announce the Kingdom of Heaven, heal the sick and deliver the oppressed by the devil (10:8). Nevertheless, Jesus explained that they wouldn’t be accepted by all, in fact they would be persecuted for being His disciples (10:14 onwards).

No versículo 22, Jesus revela a recompensa para aqueles que perseveraram até o fim: eles seriam salvos. Existem 3 coisas que eu quero explicar sobre este versículo

On verse 22, Jesus reveals the reward for those that endured until the end: they would be saved. There are 3 things I want to explain about this verse:

1. Após a leitura do capítulo inteiro, fica claro que Jesus não estava direcionando sua mensagem à Igreja, Ele está falando especificamente aos Seus discípulos sobre o ministério deles, naquele tempo específico. Jesus estava preparando-os para tudo o que estava prestes a acontecer. Alguns judeus não creriam em Jesus como sendo o Messias prometido, o que resultaria em perseguição e sofrimento aos discípulos.

1. It is clear, upon the reading of the entire chapter, that Jesus is not directing his message to the Church; He is speaking to his disciples about their specific ministry on that specific time. Jesus was preparing them to all that was about to happen. Some Jews would not believe in Jesus as the promised Messiah, resulting in persecution and distress to the disciples.

2. Os discípulos ainda não eram salvos. Por quê? Para serem salvos eles precisavam de um Salvador que receberia punição, em troca os daria  justificação. Jesus ainda não tinha morrido pelos pecados de todos, o que significa que salvação ainda estava por vir.

2. The disciples were not saved yet. Why? To be saved they needed a Savior who would take their place of punishment in exchange for His place of righteousness. Jesus had not yet died for their sins; which means salvation was still to come.

3. Jesus disse: "(...) Mas quem perseverar até o fim será salvo". O que Jesus quis dizer com "fim"? A palavra que foi traduzida como "fim" é a palavra telos ou teleō que significa: consumação (do objetivo final de um propósito), encerramento com todos os seus resultados. (Strong Dicionário grego, da e-Sword).

3. Jesus said: “(…) But those who endure to the end will be saved”. What did Jesus mean by “end”?  The word that was translated as “end” is the word telos or teleō that means: consummation (the end-goal, purpose), such as closure with all its results. (Strong’s Greek Dictionary, from e-Sword).

Essa mesma palavra Grega foi usada por Jesus em outra passagem:

That same Greek word was used by Jesus in another scriptura:

“Então Jesus, depois de ter tomado o vinagre, disse: está consumado. E, inclinando a cabeça, entregou o espírito.” (Almeida Atualizada, negrito meu)

“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished’! And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit”. (John 19:30 – NLT, bold by me).

Jesus não estava se referindo ao fim do mundo, ou a sua segunda vinda. Ele estava dizendo aos discípulos que havia um propósito para tudo o que eles iriam passar. Quando Jesus tivesse terminado tudo o que Ele foi enviado para fazer, eles finalmente seriam salvos!

Jesus was not referring to the end of the world, or to his second coming. He was telling the disciples that there was an end-goal for all the things they were about o go through. When Jesus had ended all that He was sent to do, they would finally be saved!

Isso nos revela que a nossa salvação foi estabelecida através finalização da obra de Jesus na cruz. Isso não envolve o nosso desempenho! Foi por meio do sacrifício de amor de Jesus que recebemos a sua vida em troca de nossa morte. Ele se tornou nosso representante diante do Pai e assim como Ele é, somos nós neste mundo (I João 4:17) J

This reveals that our salvation was established by Jesus’ finished work at the cross. It had nothing to do with our performance! It was by Jesus’ sacrifice of love that we received His life in exchange for our death. He became our representative before the Father, so as He is so are we in this world (I John 4:17) J
