A lei e o Espirito no Jardim do Eden - The law and the Spirit in the Garden of Eden

Eu resolvi lançar um alicerce, para tornar mais facil o entendimento da vontade de Deus, assim como o desejo dEle de nos proporcionar uma vida em perfeito descanso.

I have decided to lay a foundation to make easier the understanding of God’s will, as well as his desire for us to live in perfect rest.

Eu tenho algumas amigas que estao gravidas. Eu posso imaginar toda a euforia que elas estao vivendo. Muitas mudanças comeÇam acontecer no corpo e no estilo de vida. Elas agora estao conscientes de que ate o que elas comem ou bebem pode afetar a crianca, tanto positivamente quanto negativamente. Da mesma forma, elas farao mudanças no ambiente, para que toda a casa se torne um lugar seguro para receber o recem-nascido.

I have a few friends there are expecting now. I can imagine all the excitement they are facing. Many changes start to take place in their bodies and lives. They are now mindful of the fact that, even what they eat or drink can affect the child positively or negatively. Also, they will make sure that the entire house will become a safe place to receive the new born.

Toda essa ansiedade atingira o ponto maximo naquele dia em que o novo membro da familia comeÇar a respirar por conta propria. Ele agora esta fora do aconchego do utero, contudo ele e conduzido ao descanso, seguranca e intimidade dos braços da mamae e do papai.

All that anticipation will reach its climax on the very day the new member of the family starts breathing by himself. He is now outside the coziness of the womb, however he is led into the rest, security and intimacy of his mom and dad’s arms.

Eu creio que o nosso Pai Celestial passou pelas mesmas expectativas a medida que ele criava o Jardim do Eden. O jardim seria um ambiente seguro, um lugar de descanso, proteçao e intimidade. O melhor lugar para Ele criar Seus filhos. Ao final de cada dia da criaçao, Deus analisava tudo o que Ele havia feito. No ultimo dia, Deus chegou a uma conclusao: “Entao Deus olhou tudo o que ele havia feito, e chegou a conclusao de que era excelente em todos os aspectos. Isso tudo aconteceu no sexto dia”. I believe that our Heavenly Father went through the same excitement as He created the Garden of Eden. The garden would be a safe environment, a place of the rest, protection and intimacy. The best place to raise his children. After each creation day, God would analyze what he had done. On the last day, God got to the ultimate conclusion: “Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was excellent in every way. This all happened on the sixth day”. (Genesis 1:31 – NLT)

Agora era o momento de começar a ensinar Adao e Eva, como interagir com ambiente e entre si (Genesis 2:15-24). O jardim era um lugar seguro, onde Deus e Seus filhos poderiam passar tempo juntos. Todavia, Deus fez uma observaçao interessante em Genesis 2:16-17:

Now it was the time to start teaching Adam and Eve, how to interact with the environment and with each other (Genesis 2:15-24).  The garden was a safe place, where God and his children could have fellowship. Nevertheless, there was one interesting remark made by God in Genesis 2:16-17:

“Ordenou o Senhor Deus ao homem, dizendo: De toda árvore do jardim podes comer livremente; mas da árvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal, dessa não comerás; porque no dia em que dela comeres, certamente morrerás”. (Biblia Revista e Atualizada)

“But the LORD God gave him this warning: You may freely eat any fruit in the garden except fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat of its fruit, you will surely die." (New living Translation – NLT)

Pela primeira vez Deus disse ao homem “nao faça isso”. Como em toda casa, havia uma regra a ser obedecida. Isso te traz alguma lembrança? A arvore do conhecimento do bem e do mal representa a lei, porque e pela lei que adquirimos o conhecimento dos padroes de Deus. E a lei que avalia se as nossas açoes sao para o bem ou mal. O apostolo Paulo explica:

For the first time God told man “do not do this”. Just like in any household, there was a rule to be kept. Does that sound familiar? The tree of knowledge of good and evil represents the law, because it is through the law that we acquired the knowledge of God’s standards. It is the law that measures if our actions are good or evil. The Apostle Paul explains it as follows:

“(…)pois o que vem pela lei é o pleno conhecimento do pecado”. (Romanos 3:20 – Biblia Revista e Atualizada)

“Que diremos pois? É a lei pecado? De modo nenhum. Contudo, eu não conheci o pecado senão pela lei; porque eu não conheceria a concupiscência, se a lei não dissesse: Não cobiçarás. (Romanos 7:7 – Biblia Revista e Atualizada)

“(…)for by the law is the knowledge of sin”. (Romans 3:20 New King James Version - NKJV)

“What then is to be said? is the law sin? in no way. But I would not have had knowledge of sin but for the law: for I would not have been conscious of desire if the law had not said, ‘You may not have a desire for what is another's’”. (Romans 7:7 Bible in Basic English - BBE)

Contudo, Deus havia colocado outra arvore no meio do jardim, a Arvore da Vida (Genesis 2:9). Duas arvores no meio do jardim, uma representa a lei e seus frutos levam a morte. Qual seria o proposito da Arvore da Vida?

However, God had placed another tree in the middle of the garden, the Tree of Life (Genesis 2:9). Two trees in the middle of the garden, one represents the law and its fruit brings death. What about the Tree of Life?

O Apostolo Paulo escreveu:

“[Deus] O qual nos fez também capazes de ser ministros de um novo testamento, não da letra, mas do Espírito; porque a letra mata e o Espírito vivifica. E, se o ministério da morte, gravado com letras em pedras, veio em glória, de maneira que os filhos de Israel não podiam fitar os olhos na face de Moisés, por causa da glória do seu rosto, a qual era transitória, Como não será de maior glória o ministério do Espírito? (2 Coríntios 3:6-8 Corrigida e Atualizada Fiel, negrito e italico meu)

OBS.: Eu tomei a liberdade de colocar a palavra “Espirito” com letra maiuscula (em italico), porque o tradutor ‘Almeida’ deixou com letra minuscula, apenas traduzindo a terceira palavra “Espirito”, no versiculo 8, em maiuscula. A palavra grega “pneuma” e usada nas 3 apariçoes destes versiculos. E essa mesma palavra grega, “pneuma”, que foi utilizada em Atos 2:4 com referencia ao Espirito Santo: E todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo [pneuma], e começaram a falar noutras línguas, conforme o Espírito [pneuma] lhes concedia que falassem.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“[God] Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? (2 Corinthians 3:6-8 – NKJV, bold by me)

A palavra “letra” se refere a lei que Deus deu a  Moises (Easton Dicionario Biblico da e-Sword). Paulo esta contrastando duas coisas: a lei, que mata, com o Espirito de Deus, que da vida. Ele tambem menciona o “ministerio da morte, gravado com letras em pedra”, o que so pode ser os Dez Mandamentos!  Deus Escreveu os Dez Mandamentos em pedra!

The word “letter” is referring to the law God gave to Moses (Easton Bible Dictionary from e-Sword). Paul is contrasting the two things: the law, which kills, with the Spirit of God, whom gives life. He also speaks of the “ministry of death, that was written and engraved on stones”, that can only be the Ten Commandments! God wrote the Ten Commandments on stones!

A Biblia chama os Dez Mandamentos “o ministerio da morte”, o que significa que todas as vezes que alguem sobe no pulpito para pregar a  lei, a mensagem esta trazendo morte ao povo!

The Bible calls the Ten Commandments “the ministry of death”, which means that every time somebody preaches the law from the pulpit, the message is bringing death to the people!

O Pastor Joseph prince compartilhou essa revelacao tremenda: Moises subiu ao Monte Sinai e recebeu de Deus os Dez mandamentos. Emquanto isso, o povo de Israel tiva feito um idolo de ouro e estavam adorando-o. Quando Moises desceu com os Dez Mandamentos, ele ficou furioso e ordenou aos Levitas que matassem todos aqueles que adoraram ao idolo. Como resultado, 3000 pessoas morreram no dia em que a lei foi dada! (Exodo 32:28)

Pastor Joseph Prince highlighted this amazing truth: Moses went up the Mont Sinai and received the Ten Commandments from God. In the meanwhile, the people of Israel had made a golden idol and they were worshiping it. When Moses came down with the Ten Commandments, he got very angry and commanded the Levites to kill all the people that had worshiped the idol. As a result, 3000 people died on the day the law was given! (Exodus 32:28)

A Arvore da Vida representa o Novo Testamento, no qual o Espirito de Deus e o guia os filhos de Deus a toda verdade, e o fruto desta arvore traz vida (Joao 16:13; Romanos 8:14-16).

The Tree of Life represents the New Testament, in which the Spirit of God is the one guiding the sons of God into all truth, and the fruit of that tree brings life (John 16:13; Romans 8:14-16).

Antes de Jesus haver ascendido ao ceu, Ele prometeu aos seus discipulos que o Espirito Santo viria sobre eles. No livro de Atos capitulo 2, os discipulos estavam todos reunidos em um so lugar, durante a festa de Pentecostes, quando o Espirito de Deus desceu sobre eles (Atos 2:2-4). Naquele dia, Pedro pregou o evangelho e 3000 pessoas foram salvas! (Atos 2:41)

Before Jesus had ascended to heaven, he promised to his disciples that the Holy Spirit would come upon them. On the book of Acts chapter 2, the disciples were all in one place, during the feast of Pentecost, when the Spirit of God came upon them (Acts 2:2-4). On that day, Peter preached the Gospel and 3000 people got saved! (Acts 2:41).

No velho Testamento, a Lei foi dada e 3000 pessoas morreram; No Novo Testamento, o Espirito foi derramado e 3000 pessoas receberam nova vida! Agora fica facil entender porque a letra (lei) mata, mas o Espirito vivifica!

In the Old Testament, the Law was given and 3000 people died; under the New Testament, the Spirit was given and 3000 people received new life! Now it’s easier to understand why the letter (law) kills, but the Spirit gives life!
